About the Artist...

I am a Mother, Wife, Homemaker, Crafter, Priestess and in general loving child of the Gods. I create what I'm inspired to, and use my gift to help others in the community, locally and beyond.

I love to make besoms best of all! When I decided I needed a besom a few years ago, I went searching for one at local shops and online. I never did find what I was looking for at a price that my family could afford. So, I went the "homegrown" method...literally! I found broomcorn seeds in a seed catalog, planted a bunch of it in my garden, and watched it grow big and beautiful throughout the summer. Then the harvest season came, and I started cutting down the ripe blooms, lovely long sage strands with bold black and red seeds on the ends. What a shame it seemed to strip them away!

Then came the process of drying and dealing with all of this grass. Needless to say I developed a system that works for me, and I won't bore you with the details. Once the grass was dried the adventure of putting brush to handle became my conquest. With some trial and error, I found the way, and have been making my beautiful besoms ever since.

I want these to be affordable pieces...so I sell for $45-$60 what you might expect to pay upwards of $60-$75 for in a shop. PLUS you get the option of having whatever you want carved and burned into the handle of your besom by a skilled artist for a reasonable cost, and you don't get that on the $60 besom in the local shop!! I want to make custom besoms for people who will appreciate and love them, and do it all for as little as possible. I hope that I can make a custom besom for you too!
